I want to start looking at paper electronics, which like wearables, has a huge amount of creative potential, outside of paper stickers.
I am particularly interested in combing this with traditional papermaking and bookmaking. I think the start of this project will be taking part in the AppleTye paper trail project https://appletye.org/paper-trail/ In this I have been given a piece of paper from 1976 which I have to respond to in someway – pulping, printing, whatever. 1976 – The first Applemac. The first flight of Concorde. NASA unveils the first space shuttle. Cod Wars between Iceland and the United Kingdom. Earthquake in Tabgshan China on July 28th kills 655,000. An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale strikes in North Eastern Italy. Tidal Wave in the Philippines kills 5,000.
I’m not sure which one I will go with just yet, but I feel like embedding circuits could be quite relevant to my current practice. It will be a good place to ease myself back into printing again. I think what I am missing is a strong visual source of inspiration for this year, this is something which I have always struggled with finding. Or at least I have felt like I have.
